>'aluminations' by manolo chretien 15 November - 16 December, 2012
>manolo chretien is fascinated by the fantastic machines created to accelerate time and gain super powers. Planes, cars, spaceships are the symbol of a world constantly moving and pushing boundaries. These metal objects are irresistibly attractive. They are the mirror of human ambition. Using an innovative technique of print on aluminum, the artist turns his photographs into metal objects too - through which we are invited to reflect.
Manolo Chretien (b.1966) lives and works in Blois. His inspiration is influenced by his father - a famous French astronaut who travelled three times into space with American and Russian crews. For most of his childhood Manolo lived on military air bases surrounded by jet prototypes and air forces pilots. Graduated from the Paris art school Olivier de Serre,he set up his own graphic design agency before becoming a full time artist ten years ago. He is now represented by galleries in Paris, Montreal, Singapore, Brussels and London.
