>the sound of silence

by christophe lachize
13 April - 28 April, 2016

Christophe Lachize explores the uncharted territory between abstract and figurative painting. His landscapes are primarily undefined shapes, scratches and texture effects which make logical sense because of the presence of a single tree in the composition. This tree is the life that defines its universe and turns abstraction into reality. Empty spaces with long monochromatic sequences are created to express the secret and delicate soul of hidden things.

Christophe Lachize paints with acrylic and ink on wood panels which are polished and coated with wax. Using a subtle palette of whites and greys with a soft texture, the artist invites us to share his secret world of calm and harmony.
