christophe lachize

Christophe Lachize explores the uncharted territory between abstract and figurative painting. His landscapes are primarily undefined shapes, scratches and texture effects that only make logical sense because of the presence of a single tree in the composition. This tree is the life that defines its universe. It turns abstraction into reality.

Christophe Lachize paints with acrylic and ink on wood panels that are polished and coated with wax. Using a subtle palette of whites and greys with a soft texture, the artist invites us to share his secret world of calm and harmony

Christophe Lachize (b. 1969) lives and works in Lyon. He is a photographer and a self taught painter who has been exhibited by several art galleries in France since 2004. He is presented in the UK by >french art studio since 2014.
